The A514 Crescent Link connects the A515 Foyle Bridge (and hence the northern half of the city side of Derry) to the main A6 road towards Belfast at Lisnagelvin. 1km of the route at the Foyle Bridge end has already been converted to dual-carriageway by the private developers of the Crescent Link Retail Park who also installed a new roundabout part way along the road. The £800k cost of that scheme was met by the developer.

Plans were announced early in 2006 to proceed with dualling a further 700 metre stretch and add a roundabout at the Kilfennan Link Road. The cost of this scheme will be met entirely by a private developer who is developing lands in the area. The second lane will be constructed off-line, ie beside the current road, so disruption should not be serious. The scheme also includes resurfacing the existing carriageway on this stretch. Unlike phase 1, phase 2 includes a central crash barrier.
